Surrounded by nature, yet very civilized... Tellico Plains is very convenient to hospitals, shopping, performing and visual arts, and other amenities of city life. You can be in a big city like Knoxville in about 1 hour (60 miles), or Maryville in about 45 minutes. Smaller cities are even closer. Madisonville (county seat of Monroe County) is just a 15 minute drive and has a Super Walmart. Athens is medium size city just 30 minutes away with even more shopping. about 60 miles from Knoxville about 75 miles from Chattanooga about 160 miles from Atlanta about 200 miles from Nashville
Driving Directions to Telliquah in Tellico Plains, Tennessee:
From points North, take I-75 to Exit 60. Follow Hwy 68 south 25 miles to Tellico Plains. Turn left (east) on the Cherohala Skyway / Hwy 165 (signs for Cherohala Skyway & Tellico Plains) and go 1-l/2 miles to Telliquah (Highway 165 becomes the Cherohala Skyway). Soon you will see the Tellico River on the left side of the Cherohala Skyway (Hwy 165). You are now in Telliquah. (See local map below for other exits and routes from I-75 to Telliquah.) The Telliquah Covered Bridge is the entry to Telliquah Preserve, on the left. Bistro by the River, Cascades Riverside Grille, and the Telliquah Cascades Cottages are on the left, with a large parking area. Telliquah Outfitters and Traders Row are on the right, directly across the street from "Bistro by the River".
